About Honoring the Animals

Honoring the Animals (HTA) is an animal blessing and remembrance ceremony that is held in honor of Saint Francis Day. Saint Andrews Church in Louisville, Kentucky hosts the event which is sponsored by Chance's Spot, Pet Loss and Grief Support, a nonprofit organization that helps pet parents and professionals understand and cope with the pain of pet loss and grief. HTA is an annual event held in observance of this special day and is just one of the many ways Chance's Spot supports those who have lost a pet.

About Chance's Spot

Chance's Spot provides an online support group, publications on pet loss, hotline numbers, referrals and an online tributes page where pet caregivers can post tributes to their departed pets. Locally, Chance's Spot provides educational presentations on the topic of pet loss and compassion fatigue to pet caregivers, pet care professionals and rescue and shelter workers. Our yearly fundraisers help educate and support pet caregivers in understanding the grief associated with losing a pet.

Chance's Spot relies solely on the generous support and donations from individuals, corporations and foundations to provide our services. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. For more information about Chance's Spot, our programs or services, or to make a donation, please visit their Web site at: www.chancesspot.org.
